The Rainbow E-2 is not a well designed thing at all. The people that sell these things call it the Amazing Rainbow I do not know how they come to this conclusion. O yah they talk a big talk all about PSI and the thing is an air mover and there is no such thing as dirt. Your old Vacuum is filled with Virus, they use this Fancy light thing to show you the "Air Mover"...AKA in the normal world of talking Suction all thou the Argue to the hilt "Air Mover" whatever still does not work... The air mover will leave things in your carpets over time. They water basin they say "just empty in your toilet that's all" Well I don't know if Rainbow has industrial Toilets in there test facility or they just love for you to have to buy a plunger or call a plumber... but in any case you will NOT I repeat will NOT Empty this basin in your Toilet. Not only is it messy, but the hair it does "Move up"...Suck up as in suction... Will be in a huge mass and will definitely clog your toilet. The Toilet I have is an American Standard Cadet 3 compact one of the best on the Market just call any Plumber they will know what a Cadet 3 is. The water basin is well quite frankly a huge mess in all aspects. It can warp if left on unit, must be stored separately. It can stain if any small particles are left inside has to be cleaned out with a hose. The basin gets etch over time and more hair and dirt will stick. If you accidently drop this basin on let's say tile and it lands on its side it will crack. This is a very costly mistake. The thing is a maintenance NIGHTMARE. Okay I will start by telling you first the thing you have to change a lot. Belts they have the attachment that you use to Vacuum. The Rotating brush made from wood that dust sticks to has a belt that stretches and also the Rotating brush has to be rotated supposedly for even wear and better pick up. The brush itself needs to be washed in water due to the amount of things and dust that sticks to it. Now next maintenance thing is a Rotating Agitator in the water basin has to be unscrewed every time! Scrubbed with a brush tool (provided) and then bolted back on but not to tight. If you forget to unscrew this Agitator which is attached to I believe the drive shaft (which tightens every time you use this thing) it will burn up your motor. Rainbow will not cover your unit due to you not maintaining your unit. So now there is more money out of your pocket for costly repairs. Not that you have not put out enough already! There is more maintenance... The main rubber gasket which seals the unit to the water basin has to be wiped with a clean rag every time and so does the bottom of the Unit for sludge. NEVER EVER use this thing as a wet Vacuum! You will be really sorry you ever did. You will have sludge residue where the hose connects to the unit. This must also be wiped. The hoses themselves have to be cleaned out there are a few different methods for this. The unit itself will suffocate and turn off if a cup more of water is sucked up it can't hold the capacity. They will sell you a larger basin, "which is suppose to solve this problem but does not and now you have spent more of your hard earned money and have a bigger basin to clean. There are more maintenance issues with this thing than a lemon car! Rainbow is all about buy this and that, there is sanitizers you have to buy to put in the water...wait I thought water was clean...that's what they want you to believe; this thing even has a regular PAPER!!! Stage 3 hepa filter on it! Which they say is so bad. "Which they conveniently leave out of there demonstration. As for this thing being an "Air Mover" YAH forget about it. This thing does not clean your air Period. It may suck some dust particles out of your Air and make the water look dusty but no better than just buying a better filter for your Air Handler like a 3M. This thing will not fix any problems you have. If you want to keep your home clean buy a basic well made Vacuum on sale if you shop around. Hoover, Electrolux, ex. ... and the list goes on I have not done the research but I am sure there are other companies that assemble there Vacuums in the USA if that is important to you. Also buy a decent rug cleaner or get it done by a Pro every now and then and don't forget to get maintenance your Air Handler and your air ducts every now and then. Your air Ducts should be cleaned at least every 5 years depending on what type of Air Handler you have set up. If you have real bad Allergies and breathing problems buy an Air purifier made just for that. Most of the newer air handlers have air cleaners you can get installed on them made for your home. They even have UV Lights/ and different air filters you have serviced like Once a year depending on the set up. Which is Cheaper priced that a Rainbow. Call a good certified Air handler Company like Tran, American Standard, Rheem there are many good ones out there. Just make Sure they are Certified. If you need to do wet/dry applications buy a Shop Vac, or Rigged made for these purposes. NOT a Rainbow... I could GO on and on this thing is the largest gimmick I have ever come across EVER! This company should be forced out of business for their selling practices, and there monstrosity they call the "Amazing Rainbow" BUYER BEWARE!!!
