I recently purchased the iRobot Dirt Dog. I had a regular iRobot for years but the dog and cat fur finally killed it. I hoped that this one would work better and last longer. Because it is new, I can't say how long it will last, but it does clean better than my first iRobot. I have two cats and two dogs with lots of shed fur. I run the Dirt Dog every other day and my floor gets clean without having to pull out the big vacuum. I start the Dirt Dog when I get home from work. While I'm cooking dinner, the floor gets clean. With so much going on in our lives, it's good to so easily multi-task.
I would recommend the Dirt Dog to anyone with pets.
I gave it four stars instead of five because Dirt Dog doesn't pick up very light weight items, like small pieces of chocolate kiss wrappers.
