I purchased this vacuum as a gift for an elderly parent. It is lightweight, maneuverable and works as described. I did a test drive and experienced no issues putting it together, with the power switch, brush bar switch, or the wand and attachments.
In fact, it worked better than my powerful DC07 Animal on my entryway rug. That seemed very odd to me. Turns out that the hose that is underneath the DC07 had a rip in it and was losing suction, but I had not noticed because I still received full suction power when using the attachments. I'm so glad I bought the DC24 - otherwise who knows when I would have finally noticed the ripped hose on my DC07?
